Stormfront on the lake
While the day it was warm and relaxed. But suddenly a lot of dark clouds arrived on the sky and the wind picked up from northeasterly direction. It was time to leave the flat at 18.30. I fixed an EVO 80 for Kerstin and a Flare 99 for myself on the roof. Arriving at the beach of Podersdorf the wind →
Excellent wind
Yesterday we had a great session on the lake. Kerstin, my girlfriend sailed on Flare 99 and the K-Onda 5,0 m². Later on the 4,5 m². It was her first session since beginning of March. But she did well and carved through sweet duckjibes. Yeeaaah. I rigged two Aeros in 8,4 m² and 6,6 m² combined with the Isonic 122 →
Back from my trip to Germany
I went on a trip to Munich and to the Surffestival on the Island of Fehmarn, which is located in the German Eastern sea. Definitely it was worth to go there and be part of an amazing event, where windsurfers got the chance to test the latest gear, check out stars or enjoy parties with the latest videoproductions, like the →
Home for less than one day
Arrived yesterday evening on Vienna Airport. Was so happy to see meet my girlfriend, who picked me up. The gear still was wet rigging down in the rain and packing wet. I was a bit disappointed about the way the thing sat the check in in Incheon did run. I had to pay excess package, around 260 US $. On →
Korea is done
The event is over and excellent wind blows in the bay of Jinha again. What a pity? Nevertheless we had good luck and it was worth to come to this place. Most of the sailors left already. I will leave tomorrow morning, flying back home to good old Europe. I am happy about my improved boardspeed, but have to work →
One more round?
We are all waiting for suitable conditions her in Korea to start the 7th round, which would bring another discard in the men's elimination. In the moment it does not look like it will happen, but here you never know. Yesterday afternoon the weather was super nice. Had some light onshore breeze and I went on my 9.2 m² Aero →
Still on position 17
The wind was fine and I felt good. I was in heat three with many tough guys, like Albeau, Steen, Volwater, Diaz, Orth. So I tried to start from an upwindposition downwind at the line and passed 1.5 seconds too early. It is a pity, because I was powered up and felt competitive. But I am still on 17th position →
went up from 19 to 17
Today was fine. Made my best result in a single race on the 11th place in elimination 3. Peter Bijl went over early. In the rerun I battled with Finian Maynard at the first mark. Had good speed down the first leg. Went inside him close to the mark, but he closed the gap and I felt. Ben passed us →
Sailed better today
Could made it in pretty nice conditions up to the loosers round of the second elimination in the PWA Slalom 42 event. In the first heat I almost crashed Ben van der Steen. Was stupid to attack him being on a save fourth position. So I felt and got overpassed by two racers. But could fight back and made it →
Light winds and great show while the evening
Definitely it was not the best day in my racing career so far. I had the chance to place myself in between the top 16, but missed the start and got punished with a sixth place in the first heat. So I placed after the first day on the 21st position, which sounds much better than I sailed. The seeding →
Still foggy and quiet at Jinha Beach
The wind died while the night and some fog came in the bay. I walked around the village Jinha Beach. It is a quite remote place. Some fishing people, some hotels. The Galaxy at the southeastern part of the bay seems to be the best. I stay in the Galmaige Motel, was wrong in my yesterdays blogupdate. In the moment →
20 – 30 knots in Ulsan
I arrived yesterday night in Ulsan after a super comfortable flight with Korean and slept well in the Galaxy hotel. It seems to be a nest for Korean couples, who enjoy some nice hours. Mirrors are all around the room, as well on the top of the room. Today the wind picked up while the morning hours. I share an equipmenttent →
