First day with no breeze

For about 30 days we had windy conditions every single day, on Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. But today the wind stopped. Warm air arrived from the Sahara, which is quite close. Looks like the warm air will stay for some days. Yesterday afternoon I made the registration for the this years ISA speed event, which should have been started →

Party was on

The last day in the PWA Slaom 42 racing was nice and I could fight a bit and made a little propgress from the 40th to the 38th position. The fullfleetrace was fien, where I got 32 and in the second last one 8th in my heat as well. All together my starts were quite good and the speed much →

I get closer

The Slalom 42 races here on Fuerteventura are very tough this year. My ranking seems to be even worse than I sail. In some races I really could come close to my opponents like this pic proofs. So I try to keep a cool head and focus on each single race. Today we will go for full fleet racing, which means →

Went over early

I really feel comfortable at this spot and got better and better starts. But in my third race of the day I went over early the starting line by half a second. The start was at pinmark and I felt a lot of pressure from the back. There was no space to pull upwind and no space to sail downwind. →

First day of Slalom 42 on Fuerte

I started quite fine in my first race with a 7th position in the 13 people heat. I could not make it up, but I was close to. Just the top 6 move up. I sailed on my Isonic 87 with the MFC Slalom 32 and the AERO SL 6,6. The wind was below 20 knots, but the speed was →

Second last day in Pozo

Today we went for the races 11 and 12. One normal fleet and one half fleet race. I really felt comfortable in the strongest wind we had so far. We had gusts up to 35 knots. With my new boardtrimm, I put the mastbase much more forward and fixed the bigger fin, the 32 MFC Slalom, the feeling was easier. →

Pozo village

We already had three Slalom 42 eliminations. I am placed on the 34 th position in the moment. It´s quite tricky to sail here and get good speed on the first leg. I try to sail with speed, but get stopped sometimes by waves or an extraordinary strong gust. My third race was the best one, but could not make →

My first Slalom in Pozo

Two years ago I decided to start with Slalom racing. Now I got the chance to start in Pozo, the "Kitzbühel" of windsurfing. And it was windy. The day started with a heat, which got cancelled because of a winddrop. I rigged my Challenger Aero 6,6 and prepared my Starboard I-Sonic 101 and went out. Just before the start the →

Wave is on, Slalom postponed

The way from Lanzarote to Gran Canaria was a cool one. We took the ferry and passed by Fuerteventura, where we checked out the speed strip. This time just by walking because the gear was in the container. I feel good and can´t wait to sail my Slalom gear in my first heat in Pozo ever. Yesterday the wind was super strong →

Finished on position 30 in Lanzarote

The PWA Slalom 42 competition is over and I could finish on the 30th position. So I got some points and placed myself on the 23rd position in the actual overall PWA Slalom 42 ranking. Congratulation to Antoine, Kevin and Björn!!! A little video from the start and some downwind action in my last race number 13

Extremely hard conditions

We had two day of Slalom 42 racing here at Costa Teguise/ Lanzarote. The Wind was quite strong and the water choppy mixed up with some waves, especially while the firts races on day one. I am lucky registering a 5,8 sail. With the 6,6 it would have been hard to pass the course. In the moment I am →
