The Slalom events on the Canaries are over
It was a greta time competing on Gran Canaria and at Fuertevntura in the PWA Slalom events. In both events I started quite bad and could improve a bit while the events. We had 24 eliminations, which got counted and one more, which got started, but not finished. I did not use my smallest sail, the 5,1 in one single →
PWA Slalom Sotavento – day 1
The day started even worse than the first day in Gran Canaria, but had a strong comeback in the third race of the day. Kerstin had shown me some videostuff from the first two races. Afterwards I went up a bit with the boom and felt more comfortable. As well I changed my jibing position a bit, which gave me →
Registration is done
Today the registration was on whil ethe early afternoon. I personally expected to have a bigger fleet here. Just 47 sailors registered for the event. I really thought it will be hard to get into the top 64, because the discipline Slalom will have a boom. Anyway, tomorrow at 10.30 the first heat could be on and I will try to →
Strong offshore wind at Sotavento
2 days ago we arrived in Sotavento again after we had a great week on Gran Canaria. I finished in 32nd position at Pozo Izquierdo. The result does not make me happy, but I felt much better than the result looks like. It was the first time I could speed up in the heavy chop. In the PWA Slalom overall →
40+ knots in Pozo
Day 6 was definitely the windiest day so far. We got gusts with more than 45 knots on the slalom course. I was on my 5,4 and the iSonic 86 with a 32 cm Canfire. The gear worked great and it was an awesome challenge with the nature. In race 13 I fought very hard for the 6th position with Gonzalo. →
Pozo is different
I came here with the hope to go better than in the previous years. But did not really work out so far. In the beginning at the first round I had the chance to advance easily, but crashed a jibe. Then I continued crashing. On day 2 I took too small sailsize and finished very bad. On day 3 →
On the way to Gran Canaria
Yesterday afternoon we had to leave Fuerteventura and to get on the Ferry to Gran Canaria. We had a great time on Fuerteventura with a lot of different action: running, photoshooting, freestylewindsurfing, writing, staying with friends.... Now we are here on the hard core beach of Pozo Izquierdo.Registration is done and will go out for some sailing. The wind is up →
The trades arrived at Sotavento
We arrived and the wind arrived. The June was bad with the wind here on Fuerteventura, but the July seems to be great. Was out on my new 4,2 Gator with the EVO 80 and work on my Freestyle Classix performance. Today the plan is to sail on the Slalom kit. Wind seems to up far above 20 knots and that →
Back on the Canaries
It´s a good feeling to be back on the Canaries after almost a 11 month break. Kerstin and myself had some troubles to get on the plane yesterday afternoon. But finally the very friendly pilot gave the ok and all the Slalom gear and some waveboards plus sails got packed inside the plane. Now we are here at Costa Calma, →
