Winter on the lake Neusiedl

The winter on the lake will come to an end soon as the temperatures jumped from -10° up to +10°. The huge ice sheet, which covers my home spot completely, somehow looks surreal. It gets thinner and thinner day by day. Soon again it will be possible to have nice sessions on the lake Neusiedl.

I photographed the scenery in Weiden on February 24, 2017 – it’s one of the top spots – to give you an impression how the lake looks like when it’s covered with ice. Little parts of the lake, just next to the shore, are ice free already. When thinking about the last 12 years the lake had an ice sheet till middle of March once or twice. But there were years without any big ice sheet.
