Last weekend the Stylehunters event took place at Podersdorf, Lake Neusiedl. I felt great and was ready to race in the planned long distance, the 3rd stop of the Austrian Pannonia Cup. Unfortunately the wind did not show up in time. Just when the organisation called the event off, a very nice 7 to 15 knots strong south westerly breeze kicked in the bay and allowed us to have a fun session. That’s a rare wind, which makes a lot of crazy chop. Would have been fun to race out there. These conditions need good working light wind gear and a lot of tension in the body.

It was great fun to sail with my Austrian racing colleagues, Matthias Höller, Rainer Fuhrmann, Martin Lenhardt and Markus Pöltenstein, who just has returned from Maui. He tested with Arnon Dagan the latest NeilPryde sails there and told me how fast Arnon is. Perhaps he will win at Sylt. Let’s see!

Now it’s time to put the focus on the next event, the PWA event on Sylt. It’s always a highlight in each season. A bit like Kitzbühel in Skiing. Thousands of spectators show up at the beach of Brandenburg. That can give an extra boost. Will have an eye on how the course and especially the finish line is set in 2014 and enjoy each race at the fullest. Sylt, we come!! The van is packed, the motivation is 100% and we start now!
