Good speed

It was a nice sunday. I showed up at the beach around 9.00 and the wind from northern direction was still on. Light, but enough to get on planning with the Code Red 9,0 on the Isonic. I got my gear rigged and did some testruns. The organisation of the Austrian Speed Challenge tried to start a longdistance again, but decided to run a GPS speedrace later on. I had to watch the action, because the rental GPS were out of battery. My hardest opponent Peter Pfaffenbichler, a extremely experienced Lake Neusiedler local showed up at the beach with a top speed of 50,9. I got some batteries from him. In the beginning I could not get any fast runs, but managed later to get faster and faster with an extremely opened outhaul: 46 knots, 47,5 knots, 48, 5 knots and 51,9 knots in the end. More than 28 knots. The wind was super ligt and sometimes not enough to get into planning. I am really stoked about winning the speed race. It´s my first victory on the new Severnesails. The first four sailors all went on the Severne Code Red R2 9,0. Thanks Peter, for the batteries.
Later on I went for a relaxed SERENITY session and Kerstin got some super sweet shot swith the 12-24 mm lense. The weekend was great having a well organised event at my “homespot”. Thanks to all who made it happen!!!
