Is this the right way?
The IFCA hold their 2007 meeting in Almanarre while the Slalom Worldchampionships 2007. The results and points of discussion got published on the website: http://ifca.internationalwindsurfing.com/page0199v01.htm
In the this years Slalom worldchampionships – this discipline is growing in the moment – did not see many top Pros registered. Think about worldchampionships in other sport disciplines. The creme de la creme will show up and fight for the title. Is there anything going wrong? Does only offer the PWA a platform for top sailors? It seems to be like that. The IFCA wants to continue organising Worldchampionships, where not one cent can be won: “prize money issue, do we need prize money for the Worlds? I think that all agreed that a title should be a value of its own and that prize money is nice but not obligatory.”
Isn´t this the wrong way?
Anyway, the 2008 IFCA Slalom Worldchampionships should happen in Portugal, Figueira da Foz (31/8 – 6/9). And 2009 the Slalom sailors should fight in Sylt for the title or alternatively in Squamish (Canada) from the 29/07 – 2/08.
I am already interested how the 2008 PWA Slalom 42 tourplan will look like.
In the upcoming days it should get warmer here in Austria and I hope to have some nice sessions on the water.
